Piper Announces New Board of Directors
Dynamic New Board Poised to Advance Piper’s STEAM/STEM Mission and Deploy New Products
SAN FRANCISCO, CA — November 1, 2020 —Piper, the award-winning STEAM edtech company, announced their new Board of Directors, effective November 1, 2020. The five-person Board of Directors will comprise Piper CEO David Lundgren; Piper Co-Founder Shree Bose; Piper Chief Operations Officer Chris Bouman; Piper Chief Academic Officer Dr. Todd Ullah; and Google’s Leslie Leland.

As we look to expand Piper’s market reach and add to our product and curriculum offerings, this board brings exactly the expertise we need to guide both our short- and long-term strategy.”
BOARD MEMBERS
David Lundgren, Piper CEO, is a veteran technologist with several decades of experience building successful companies, teams, technologies, iconic products & processes. David has held key engineering and product development leadership roles at venerable technology firms Apple, Broadcom and Pixar along with GPS pioneer Global Locate, acquired by Broadcom for $200M in 2012. He joined Piper as Head of Product in 2018, and was asked by the Board to lead Piper in January 2019. He has a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from M.I.T..
Shree Bose, Piper Co-Founder, was honored as the Grand Prize winner of the first Google Global Science Fair, as a high-school student in 2011. Recognizing a need for better tools for technology and STEM education for younger students,, she co-founded Piper, a Minecraft toolbox for budding engineers, in 2014. Shree graduated cum laude from Harvard University with a degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology with a secondary in Global Health and Health Policy. She is now a student in the MD/PhD program at Duke University School of Medicine.
Dr. Todd Ullah, Ed.D, Piper Chief Academic Officer, won the 2014 CSTA Administrator of the Year Award, and has wide-ranging experiences in STEM/STEAM education. As the former Director of Instructional Technology Applications and STEAM for the Los Angeles Unified School District, he oversaw all educational technology programs, including district, state, and federal grants, and all Computer Science programs including curriculum, professional development. Todd is an adjunct professor of ethics and leadership at The University of San Diego; he earned his Ed.D at UCLA.
Leslie Leland, Director, has held a variety of product development and management leadership roles at marquee Silicon Valley, media and entertainment companies including Disney, Hasbro, Apple, and Microsoft. Leslie has been at Google for more than 14 years, where she is currently Product Inclusion Lead for Google Devices and Services. She earned both BS and MSME degrees from Stanford University.
Chris Bouman, Piper Chief Operating Officer, joined the company in 2016 as employee Number 4. Chris is a 14 year veteran of Mattel starting as an engineer and then into global brand marketing for Hot Wheels where he won Storyteller of the Year in 2011. Chris was a General Manager at his first startup, SnowBomb, who pioneered the online lift ticket and later became Director of Events and Sponsorships at Silicon Valley Bank. He has a degree in Management Information Systems from Chico State University.
