The Walker is a widget of the Piper Make Robotics Expedition Kit, and an engaging way to start exploring how to design and build robots. The Walker is an add-on and REQUIRES a Piper Make Base Station with the Raspberry Pi Pico to get started (sold separately). Â
Piper Make Robotic Walker - Introduction to Robotics
Step into the world of robotics with the Piper Make Robotic Walker, a hands-on project that lets students build and code a mechanical robot capable of movement using motors and sensors. Designed to work with the Piper Make Base Station, this kit provides an exciting introduction to robotics, encouraging discussions about the role of robots in today’s workforce, their design, and the considerations involved in making them functional.
START WITH THE BUILDUsing the included engineering blueprint, students will construct the Robotic Walker, gaining practical experience in both engineering and coding. Once built, the Robotic Walker becomes the centerpiece of various Piper Make Missions, including Security Zone, Ultrasonic Drum, Resistor Piano, Walker Race, Walker Dance, and Walker Detect. These missions are designed to engage students in story-driven tutorials, where they learn to code by following guided, narrative-based instructions.
REUSABLE AND EDUCATIONALThe Robotic Walker is built to last, with a design that allows it to be reused up to 20 times. This makes it an ideal tool for collaborative learning, recommended for up to 2 students per kit. The hands-on experience of building and programming the Robotic Walker not only introduces students to the fundamentals of robotics but also fosters critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork.
Bring robotics to life in your classroom with the Piper Make Robotic Walker, and inspire the next generation of engineers and innovators!
